I’m happy to report that Spelling went MUCH better today. We saved it til we were almost done. That did seem to help. “They” say to work on the more difficult subjects first while your brain is fresh, but when I thought about this situation it didn’t quite apply. Yes, Daniel struggled with the Spelling (I know, it’s only been 3 days). No, it wasn’t that it was difficult for him, he just doesn’t like having to do all that writing. So, we did it second to last. I think it helped to get him into the groove of working on things and then add that in, instead of having to do all of that writing first thing. Oh…and he took a practice test and got 17/20!

What about Isaiah and Joshua you ask? Well, they have been doing pretty well at letting us work. Isaiah did some work in a couple books I bought him. He worked on writing some numbers. He has also done quite a bit of coloring. Joshua plays with his cars and has a grand old time on his own. I plan to work in some fun projects in which they can all participate, but for now we are working on the “school” part. I’m hoping to get that added in next week.

I have to say that I am enjoying this already. It has been good to get some routine back in our lives. I know that helps us all. Again, I know it’s only been 3 days, but I think overall this will be a very positive experience. I love knowing exactly what he is learning and being able to incorporate that into other discussions throughout our day. It is so much fun to watch him learn and watch his brain think about things in different ways. Some of the questions he asks are amazing. Shows me that he is really thinking about what we are discussing.

And of course, I forgot to take pictures. It never even crossed my mind until we were finished. Oops! I’ll keep trying.
